Saturday, June 24: Ducky Day

10:00-12:00 Free Family Activities: antique fire engine rides, horse-drawn hay wagon rides, fun ducky games, and Mr. Duck!.  Food tent with hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausage sandwiches, soft drinks and dessert.  Duck race tickets and Old Home Week merchandise for sale.

2:30pm First Christian Church Music Camp event at Freedom Elementary School: “Moses and the Freedom Fanatics”
3:30pm Fun Friday for Elementary Age Kids: “TBD”, Freedom Library.
5:00-6:45pm Pizza & Movie: “TBD” Rated PG, Pizza $3, Freedom Library.
5:00-7:30pm Lawn Party with refreshments at 8 Elm Street – Adults only, $5.  Bring an appetizer.  Rain or shine.  Music by Sam Southworth.  Dress code: Smart casual.

Saturday, July 29
9:00am Ladies Guild Quilts & Crafts, First Christian Church of Freedom.  Quilt raffle tickets available.
9:00am Food and Raffle, outside Town Hall.  Sponsored by Lakeview Cemetery Association.
9:00am-4:00pm Freedom House Antiques Open, 17 Old Portland Rd, 539-4815.
9:30am Mango Groove Band, next to Freedom Village Store.
10:00am Parade through Freedom Village.  Theme: “Rooted and Growing in Freedom”.  Bands! Floats! Food! Music!
10:00am Hot Dogs outside Freedom Village Store.  Sponsored by Freedom Village Store.
10:00am-12:00pm Freedom Historical Society Museum Open, 28 Old Portland Road.
11:00am-2:00pm The 41st Annual South Eaton Meeting House Luncheon and Fair, Rte 153 to Horseleg Road to intersection of Towle Hill and Burnham Roads, South Eaton.  southeatonmeetinghouse.com
6:00-8:00pm Pig Roast sponsored by Rob Hatch to benefit the Freedom Food Pantry.  Freedom Elementary School ball field, rain or shine.  Roasted pig, pork butts, turkey, and all the trimmings!  Music featuring local fiddlers “String Equinox”.  $25 adults, $15 kids under 15 years old.  Advance tickets through Rob Hatch, 539-6879.

Sunday, July 30
8:00-9:30am Welcome Home Breakfast, Town Hall, sponsored by First Christian Church, donation.
10:00am Welcome Home Church Service and Music Camp Performance at Freedom Elementary School: “Moses and the Freedom Fanatics”.
10:00am-12:00pm Freedom Historical Society Museum Open, 28 Old Portland Road.
1:00pm Blessing of the Animals, First Christian Church.
4:00pm “TBD” presented by TBD of the Freedom Heritage Commission, Town Hall (upstairs).
6:00pm 4th Annual Paint Night, with Doodlin’ Di, Town Hall.  $25, adults only.  Call 301-1035 to register, as space is limited.

Monday, July 31
9:30am Trout Pond and/or Mary’s Mountain hike; meet at end of Shawtown Rd. Sponsored by Freedom Conservation Commission and Forest Advisory Committee.
10:00am-12:00pm Freedom Historical Society Museum Open, 28 Old Portland Road.
2:00pm Water Sports at Freedom Beach Club, Loon Lake.  Staffed by Camp Huckins.
7:00pm Concert featuring TBD.  Sponsored by the Freedom Historical Society, Town Hall. Donation.

Tuesday, August 1
9:00am Introductory Yoga class; no charge – all levels welcome.  Barbara McEvoy, Instructor, Town Hall.
10:00am Land Sports at the Freedom Elementary Ball Field.  Staffed by Camp Calumet.
10:00am-12:00pm Freedom Historical Society Museum Open, 28 Old Portland Road.
6:00pm Ping-Pong Tournament at Town Hall. 6:00 Pre-teens; 6:45 Teens; 7:30 Adults. Donation.

Wednesday, August 2
9:30-11:30am “TBD” Historical walk (moderate).  Route begins at Town Square and goes south down Old Portland road to Scarboro Road.  Sponsored by Freedom Historical Society and Freedom Heritage Commission.
10:00am “TBD” Family Program, Town Hall.  Sponsored by Friends of the Library.
10:00am Writing Workshop for grades 5+, Freedom Library.
10:00am-12:00pm Freedom Historical Society Museum Open, 28 Old Portland Road.

6:00pm Family Bingo, Town Hall.  Sponsored by Freedom Eagles PTA.  Donation.

Thursday, August 3
9:30am Prospect Mountain Hike; meet at Freedom Elementary Ball Field for carpooling. Late arrivals can go direct to 184 Scarboro Road and look for signs, but street parking is limited.  Questions? Call 904-687-5210.

5:30-8:30pm Teen Night at the Freedom Library, for grades 7+.  Activity, Visit to Ice Cream Social and Movie “TBD”, Pizza $4.
6:00-7:30pm Ice Cream Social at Town Office Bandstand (if rain, inside Mason’s Lodge).  Entertainment by Cedar Mountain Bluegrass Band.  50/50 Raffle Sponsored by Old Home Week Committee.  Only handicapped parking at Town Office lot, please.

41st Annual Arts & Crafts Fair, Freedom Elementary School. Sponsored by Freedom Community Club. Food will be available, sponsored by First Christian Church.

7:00am 13th Annual OHW 5K Road Race. Questions, contact Pete at pwschiller@gmail.com or at 986-1843 (email contact preferred if possible).  Registration form available here or at Freedom Village Store. $15 pre-registration fee includes race t-shirt.  Registrations after July 23 are $20.
– Walkers: Registration ends 7:45am; race begins 8:00am.
